VETERANS EDU · LEARNING NOTES
A weekly SAT vocabulary routine for students balancing IB or AP
A practical weekly plan and printable handover note for vocabulary review alongside school deadlines, informed by identified Veterans Edu articles and interviews.
When IB or AP work is busy, plan vocabulary around the review work you can finish. Keep a short daily slot, check meaning in a sentence, and use one weekly review to choose your next action. The plan below is a suggested example, not a reconstruction of a student's actual timetable or a promise of a score gain.
Start with the school calendar
Mark major assignments, tests and activities first. BARU Vocab's default session offers 20 new words plus scheduled reviews; that is an app setting, not a universal workload prescription. Use the app within a wider plan that leaves room to understand repeated mistakes and to sleep normally.
| When | Suggested task | What to record |
|---|---|---|
| Start of the week | Choose realistic study windows around school deadlines. | Available days and review priorities. |
| Study days | Recall the meaning before revealing it, then explain one example in context. | A word or distinction that still causes confusion. |
| End of the week | Group repeated errors: meaning, sentence logic, evidence or time. | One recurring cause. |
| Next planning session | Try a new example and adjust the workload to the following week's calendar. | One action and a recheck date. |
If reviews keep piling up
Check whether the words are unfamiliar, confused with another word or difficult only in context. Let that diagnosis guide your study plan rather than treating every miss as a need for more new words.
If definitions feel easy
Explain why one alternative fails in a new sentence. A correct isolated definition does not by itself show that the word can be used to interpret a passage.
Your next-week handover note
This optional note is not connected to your app progress. Entries are not sent to a server or saved automatically. Print it if you want to keep it.
Why these sources are relevant
The IB student in a Veterans Edu interview describes daily vocabulary work while taking IB subjects and participating in school activities. The reported path is 1310, then 1420 in August after a summer course, then 1510 in October. It is not a single immediate post-course jump, and the account does not identify BARU Vocab as the student's tool.
Segye Biz reported on September 19, 2026 that Veterans Edu describes different course structures for school terms and vacations, including adjustment around school assessments. IT Biz News reported on October 1 that the academy connects assignments and error types with subsequent lessons and parent communication. The weekly note here is a separate self-study aid inspired by those planning ideas; it does not provide academy classes, parent reports or a contractually guaranteed service.
Sources and evidence
These sources describe an individual learning experience and academy operating processes. They support the reason for discussing routines and review handover, not a claim that a particular daily word count produces a particular SAT result.
