How Many Words Do You Need for the Digital SAT?

A study collection is a planning aid, not a fixed word requirement or a guarantee of exam coverage.

There is no score guarantee attached to a word count. BARU Vocab offers the 3,600-word VZIP collection; the size describes its content, not the share of a future exam it covers.

Use a count to plan, then check what you can do

1. Review recent practice and list the words or meanings you did not understand.
2. Separate unknown meanings from errors in sentence logic or evidence.
3. Choose a manageable set and read its examples.
4. Revisit the words in new sentences before deciding they are secure.

What the tiers mean

Base Camp, Ascent and Summit organize the app collection. They are not official SAT score bands. This site does not establish that the first tier covers most test questions, that every learner needs all three, or that finishing a tier creates a particular score ceiling.

Check context, not only the definition

The College Board includes vocabulary in context in its description of Reading and Writing. Try explaining which part of a sentence supports the meaning you selected. A familiar definition may be the wrong sense in a particular passage.
